Farming in Hill Areas :- Hilly areas agriculture land is scattered that means it becomes very difficult to the farmer to execute and manage any agriculture or any other process over it.

Scarcity of water :- One major problem in agriculture in hilly areas is the scarcity of water. Due to this water shortage, major crops get spoiled.

Natural way of Farming :- there have been lots of changes in terms of agriculture nationwide but people of uttrakhand still uses traditional equipments which were used by their forefathers for agriculture. they are still using their traditional equipments named “Darati” and “Qudal” for performing their agriculture activities.
Natural way of harvesting :- in uttarakhand farmers are using their traditional way of harvesting the corps, the farmers are very laborious they are using only man power, in other way there are too difficulty in farming in uttarakhand.

Finger millet pancakes 
Makes six portions: 1 cup of finger millet flour, 1 medium red onion, finely diced, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 tablespoons of peanuts (or peanut butter), 1 teaspoon of salt (for taste), 1 teaspoon pepper, 1/4 cup of water. Optional: 1 teaspoon of curry powder.
In a frying pan, heat the olive oil and fry diced onions till light brown. Add pepper and curry powder and fry for a minute. Add 1 cup of finger millet flour, salt, peanuts and fried onions to a dry bowl, and mix well. Add the water and knead the dough. One can make them either to the consistency of pancake batter or bread batter. Heat a skillet. Spread the batter in skillet and cook till brown.
